It is a true that Accidents Happen, but most homeowners don't comprehend is that if a MAID is injured on their property, it is you, the homeowner, who can be held liable for all medical costs unless the employee is covered by workers compensation insurance.
If you hire a company that uses independent contractors, or, if you hire an independent maid, don’t cross your fingers and hope your homeowners insurances will cover it. Pick up the phone and call your insurance agent and ask the tough questions. Your insurance company will tell you that you are covered if the maid is a direct household employee…meaning you are paying employment taxes on them. If not you are up the creek if they get hurt.
Judges across the land routinely shift the burden onto the homeowner when an uninsured maid gets hurt on your property. Judges rule that you, the homeowner, become the employer and are obligated to provide workers' compensation insurance benefits to your maid. Save yourself future grief. Only hire licensed, insured and bonded cleaning services.
With You've Got MAIDS, our Customers have no worries. All of our maids are employees and covered under our Workers Compensation Insurance.

This just jumped off the page at me today. On my lunch break I like to read things that will expand and elevate my understanding of this world we live in. This morning I spoke to three prospects looking for a new maid service. Each one of them had horror stories to tell about their last cleaning service. They wanted to know how we would be different. I told them about our feedback system and how we tie compensation to Customer evaluations. I told them about how we screen our maids. About Maid University. About our professional management of the staff. I told them that everything we do at our maid service is geared at delivering good to great maid service. I didn't promise we would be perfect. I wish we could, but even Rosie the robot maid from the Jetsons wasn't perfect all of the time. Rosie was an old second hand robot maid hired by the Jetson family from U-RENT A MAID (a pun on U-HAUL). Do you have a net worth of $150K or greater? Do you have $25-35K to invest in yourself? Today I spoke with a woman who was looking for residential cleaning services. We were the 5th call she "maid" leafing through the yellow pages. The first 4 had all gone out of business. All 4 cleaning companies were independent start ups. Perhaps these business owners didn't have a clue about the real probability of success in the residential cleaning service category. They didn't have a franchiser to teach them what to study so they could leverage the knowledge in the residential cleaning business world. They didn't have a franchiser there to redirect them when they went off track or encourage them when they were hit a case of the blues. When you study the odds you learn that franchises are so much less risky than creating a start up. If you are very ambitious, a franchise still works as it helps you to leverage your managerial talents to grow one market after another. Do you have a net worth of $100K or greater? Do you have $25-29K to invest in yourself? We want to sell residential cleaning service franchises. We want to sell residential cleaning service franchises in Florida. We have decided not to pay for marketing to promote the sale of our residential cleaning service franchise protected territories in Florida or anywhere else until our new website is complete. Nevertheless we do have franchise applicants interested in territories. For the past couple of weeks we have been enjoying a conversation with a UK citizen interested in purchasing a You've Got MAIDS franchised business territory somewhere in Florida. I truly wanted it to work out, and it still may. However, I don't need it to work out. Yesterday the prospective franchise partner from London, England wrote "I am looking for substantial changes in the Franchising Agreement"; he then forwarded 18 pages of changes. In the end it wouldn't resemble the company that we have painstakingly built by trial and error. If I was desperate I might have said yes just to add another franchise partner, but it would have been to the detriment of the franchise system. After all peace at any price is not peace. Joining a franchise business is not a perfect business opportunity for everyone. Sure franchise businesses have a greater chance for success (a U.S. Dept. of Commerce study reveals that over 90% of franchises are still trading profitably after 7 years compared to a 80% failure rate for independent start-ups). However, some people would fair better on their own. If you are seeking a proven franchise business opportunity give us a call. We don't need you, but if you have the right combination of integrity, business acumen, and financial stability we may want you as a Franchise Partner. Do you have a net worth of $100K or greater? Do you have $25-35K to invest in yourself? Earlier this week I received a maid service quote request from a woman in Longwood, Florida. She told me that "I want maid service, but I don't need maid service.", and ten minutes later she booked our 52-Point Spring Clean. Wants vs. Needs is more then just semantics. It is a philosophy. It goes to intent. Our maid service client in Longwood, FL recognizes that she wanted residential maid service, but that the world would not stop spinning if she didn't find someone to clean her home. She could do it herself. She could procrastinate her cleaning away. By the grace of God I get to go through the world with want goggles on. I make decisions mostly on a want, not need, basis. We are all incredibly lucky to live in a country in a time and place where anyone can pull themselves up by their own boot straps. In America if you are willing to work hard, and work smart you can dramatically change your life. What if I was born in a poor Somalian village? What opportunity would I have? I for one recognize my extreme great fortune on my draw in the birthplace lottery. I want to buy from people who want my business, but don't need my business. The company that needs my business worries me. What are they going to be like when they no longer need my business? This goes for hiring employees as well. If you want to own your own business give us a call. We don't need you, but if you have the right combination of integrity, self motivation, business acumen, and financial stability we may want you as a Franchise Partner. Do you have a net worth of $150K or greater? Do you have $25-35K to invest in yourself? If you are not afraid of hard work and want to talk about owning a You've Got MAIDS franchise please call our Franchise Approval Department 843.388.7888 to discuss your options.A need is something you must have. A good example is food, and oxygen.
A want is something you would like to have. A good example is professional maid service.
